SUMMARY
Our letter supports a campaign by the ACLU, The Advocates for Human Rights, and others. It asks the Senate to oppose H.R. 3486, the misleadingly named “Stop Illegal Entry Act of 2025.” This bill would impose extreme prison sentences on people seeking asylum, teenagers, and people trying to reunite with their families—not for violent conduct, but for the manner in which they entered the U.S.
We will send your email messages to your Senators, and you will also have the opportunity to tweet your message to them. The bill passed the House on September 11, 2025
