freedom of the press and pass the PRESS Act
SUMMARY
Our letter supports a campaign by Defending Rights and Dissent (https://www.rightsanddissent.org/about/). It asks the Senate to pass H.R. 4250, the PRESS Act. This legislation is “the strongest federal shield bill for journalists we’ve ever seen,” according to Seth Stern, director of advocacy for the Freedom of the Press Foundation. This bill has bipartisan support. It passed the House on a voice vote!
We will send your email messages to your Senators, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (for their respective caucuses). You will also have the opportunity to tweet your message to those people.
